Inside Line Promotions – RAPID CITY, S.D. (July 18, 2017) – Seth Bergman recorded a pair of top 10s, including a podium finish, last weekend during a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader at Black Hills Speedway.

Bergman kicked off the Rushmore Rumble on Friday by advancing from fourth to third place in a heat race. That earned enough points to lock into the feature redraw, in which Bergman pulled the No. 2 to start the main event on the outside of the front row.

“We missed the setup a bit and didn’t have the car where it needed to be to contend for the win,” he said. “You hate to have an opportunity of starting on the front row and not be able to capitalize, but it wasn’t our night.”

Bergman battled inside the top five throughout the race before scoring a third-place result, which was his third podium of the season during Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition.

Friday’s result locked him into Saturday’s feature redraw. This time Bergman pulled the No. 4 to start the main event on the outside of the second row.

“We backed up a few positions during the course of the race,” he said. “Just like on Friday, you want to move forward and take advantage of starting races in the first couple of rows so we’re disappointed with the end result. However, we have some things to build on and we learned a couple of things for the next time we race at Black Hills.”

Bergman closed the weekend with a seventh-place result. He remains ranked sixth in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings.

Bergman is scheduled to compete with the ASCS Red River Region this Friday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., and with the ASCS Warrior Region on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., and on Sunday at Double X Speedway in California, Mo.
